DESCRIPTION
RuptuR is a one-movement piece written for three percussionists from the Percussions de Strasbourg, Caravaggio, and electronics. For an hour and fifteen minutes, a rhythmic flow unfurls uninterrupted while patterns emerge, and a varying display of colors and physical gestures carry us to the brink of a trance state.
Driven to the limits of potential, this exhilarating machine comes to an abrupt halt after an hour and ten minutes, leaving a deep volcanic void haunted by the resilience of accumulated energy and the audience’s held breath.
RuptuR offers an intense musical performance, a powerful sonic blast with rock accents illuminated by by Christophe Schaeffer’s organic lighting design.
