MUE
by Benjamin de la Fuente & Samuel Sighicelli, in close collaboration with Alexa Ciciretti
An improvisation around Kaija Saariaho’s “Sept Papillons” for cello
DESCRIPTION
MUE is the result of an encounter between Kaija Saariaho’s “Sept Papillons” for solo cello, an improvising violin, and the acoustic vibration of a venue, brought to life through spatialized electronic sounds. MUE explores, in turn, the harmony that unites these three entities and the distances that separate them. The delicacy and ephemerality of the countless musical elements gradually weave a vast resonance. MUE is the transformation of a sonic world dominated by agile hands and bows into a suspended world, allowing our listening to alter, and letting space gradually overtake time.
